Moving Through Pain Isn't a Plan — It's a Risk

Without knowing exactly where your movement breaks down, you’re guessing — and guessing leads to overuse injuries, setbacks, and months lost from sport, work, and the activities you love.

You Keep Getting Re-Injured

The same ankle, knee, or shoulder keeps flaring up because no one has identified why it failed in the first place. Without a proper movement screen, you’re patching symptoms — not solving the problem.

Generic Programs Aren't Built for You

Cookie-cutter strength plans and group rehab sessions don’t account for your movement patterns, asymmetries, or history. You need an individualized assessment — not a one-size-fits-all protocol.

You're Not Cleared — You're Just Guessing

Returning to sport or activity without objective movement data is a gamble. Pain-free doesn’t mean ready. A structured movement screen gives you the benchmarks to know you’re truly cleared to perform.

"As a former athlete, I've spent years in various PT clinics, and I can confidently say that none of them come close to the level of care and expertise Praneeth provides. His one-on-one approach has made a huge difference, and has guaranteed high quality, consistent treatment over many years."

  • I called Praneeth after tweaking my back skiing. He was very accommodating and got me in almost immediately. After just a few weeks of Praneeths work on my back and completing my homework, I was able to get back on the mountain with a pain free back!

Praneeth treated my daughter for some knee pain she was having. He was really thorough in diagnosis. He spent tons of time with us, making sure he really understood the problem. He gave her exercises to do at home. After about 8 visits, she was in good shape and hasn't had any pain since. Also, he's a super nice and funny guy. We had a great experience.

Movement Screen FAQs

Everything you need to know before booking your first visit at Journey Physical Therapy in Chicago.

No referral is required. Illinois is a direct access state, which means you can schedule your movement screen or physical therapy appointment directly with Dr. Purimetla without a physician’s referral. Most patients contact us first — we’ll handle the rest.

A movement screen at Journey Physical Therapy is a one-on-one, comprehensive assessment conducted by Dr. Purimetla to evaluate how you move — identifying dysfunctions, compensations, asymmetries, and injury risk factors specific to your body and goals. It typically includes functional movement patterns, strength and control benchmarks, and if appropriate, plyometric and return-to-sport progressions. Your first visit is 60–90 minutes, giving Dr. Purimetla enough time to understand your full history and build a plan around your findings.

At Journey, every single session — including your movement screen — is conducted one-on-one with Dr. Purimetla, the owner and sole treating clinician. You are never handed off to a PT aide, assistant, or a different therapist. Most corporate PT clinics see multiple patients simultaneously and rotate staff frequently. Journey is intentionally small so that your care is personal, consistent, and built around you from beginning to end.
